Erpfendorf has been officially recognised as a hiking village and therefore part of one of the most stunning hiking regions in Austria.

The region between the Kitzbühel Alps and Wilder Kaiser offers Alpine pastures, mountains and peaks of all heights and difficulty levels. From light and family-friendly hiking trails in the valley to Alpine pasture hiking trails and climbing tours in rock and ice, everyone will find the ideal route. Taking a cable car to help you on your hiking route is also possible.

You can find more than 200 km of signposted hiking trails in Erpfendorf alone.

A special highlight in Erpfendorf is the Grießbachklamm. This natural spectacle impresses every kind of visitor – with its pristine nature, clear water and romantic views in what is simply one of the most stunning hiking destinations. The Grießbachklamm

The Grießbachklamm natural experience in Erpfendorf is probably one of the most beautiful hiking destinations in the Kitzbühel Alps.

The paths to the gorge have been laid out with a lot of passion as well as a real sensitivity for ensuring a natural route. The first part of the gorge leads through a wild and romantic ravine, which is easily crossed at the narrow points with footbridges and suspension bridges. The climb rises gently and can also be completed by less ambitious hikers. Good footwear is advised, however.

Children will love the small ponds and shallow riverbanks as places to cool off or just play in. The barefoot path and the stone circle also provide great variety.

The moderately difficult circular hike through the Grießbachklamm is five kilometres long and takes around two hours. It is a great experience for nature lovers, romantic couples and families.
